Orange Cream Cheese Icing

Icing prepared from softened cream cheese, butter, fresh orange zest, fresh orange juice, confectioners’ sugar.

Ingredients -
3 ounces Cream Cheese, softened
2 tablespoons Butter, softened
1 teaspoon Orange Zest
2 tablespoons Fresh Orange Juice
2-1/2 cups Confectioners' Sugar
3/4 cup chopped Walnuts
 
Preparation:

1. Beat cream cheese, butter or margarine, orange peel, and orange juice until creamy.

2. Beat in confectioner's sugar until blended and smooth.

3. Spread about 1-1/2 tablespoons on each cooled cupcake.

4. Sprinkle with walnuts.

Oranges are available year round, but at their peak during the winter months. The zest or very top layer of colored skin can easily by removed by scraping with a sharp fork or using a zester.
